Early spring at Tree Bistro (buds and more, oh my)!

….overwhelmed with joy at the sight of the first buds at Tree Bistro, where I designed and planted a garden last year, with the help of Tree Bistro owner, Colm Clancy….loved enhancing the beauty of this great space with planting 3 trees last year as well as many beautiful shrubs and flowers…..Because Hurricane Sandy got in the way of our fall plans to plant bulbs, after the cleanup yesterday, we planted a bunch of early spring beautiful flowers: pansies, ranunculus, two variations of bleeding hearts, perennial evergreen fern, tulips, daffodils, and muscari (grape hyacinths), etc.Image

tribeca garden thriving

i was working on the rooftop next door to this one and couldn’t resist taking a peak at the garden I designed and planted on the adjacent roof — and so I climbed up on the wall to take a quick photo and was so happy to see this Tribeca rooftop garden thriving. I’ve never planted more grasses before in any design I’ve done and I’m quite pleased with the effect….
