He who plants a tree…

I planted this double cherry blossom tree two springs ago for a wonderful client in Park Slope, Brooklyn… and am jumping for joy to see this beautiful baby thriving!

PLANT A TREE

He who plants a tree
Plants a hope.
Rootlets up through fibres blindly grope;
Leaves unfold into horizons free.
So man’s life must climb
From the clods of time
Unto heavens sublime.
Canst thou prophesy, thou little tree,
What the glory of thy boughs shall be?

Early spring at Tree Bistro (buds and more, oh my)!

….overwhelmed with joy at the sight of the first buds at Tree Bistro, where I designed and planted a garden last year, with the help of Tree Bistro owner, Colm Clancy….loved enhancing the beauty of this great space with planting 3 trees last year as well as many beautiful shrubs and flowers…..Because Hurricane Sandy got in the way of our fall plans to plant bulbs, after the cleanup yesterday, we planted a bunch of early spring beautiful flowers: pansies, ranunculus, two variations of bleeding hearts, perennial evergreen fern, tulips, daffodils, and muscari (grape hyacinths), etc.Image
